Energy transitions in East Africa
This project studies the opportunities and challenges related to the use of technical knowledge in the governance of decarbonization in East Africa. The study combines the traditions of modeling energy systems, ecological transitions and comparative political economy, to determine what modeling tools are available to enable stakeholders in the region to navigate transition decisions. Partners include researchers from leading universities in Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya.

Measuring the evolution of climate change cooperation
This project aims to improve understanding of climate change cooperation through a combination of technical policy analysis and public opinion research.

Effectiveness of climate finance instruments
Drawing on empirical field research, this project aims to understand the effectiveness of climate nance instruments for the transition to low-carbon development.

United Nations Conference
The Chair will support the organization of UQAM’s delegation to the annual Conference of Parties (COP26) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
